(Daytona Beach, FL – February 17, 2014) Justin Allison and Team BCR Racing had a strong car, qualifying 12th for the Lucas Oil 200, but due to a 15-car wreck early in the race, their day ended early.
Allison tested at Daytona back in December with over 70 drivers and posted the 3rdfastest lap time throughout the entire weekend. Set to make his Daytona debut, the rookie driver drove the No. 88 Havacosales.com Ford up into the 9th position respectively by lap 12 of the race.
Just 13 laps in, the race spiraled out of control when the No. 99 and No. 9 cars triggered a multiple car wreck. Allison quickly turned the wheel in order to avoid the wreck and would have been clear until the No. 66 hit the nose of Allison’s No. 88 Havacosales.com Ford Fusion.
“It’s a shame our day had to end like this,” says 21-year-old driver, Justin Allison. “The Team BCR crew and I have been putting a lot of effort into making this car capable of a win. Howard gave me a great car that had the ability to finish well here but I guess it wasn’t in our cards today. I’m thankful I was given the chance to come here and make my Daytona debut with the support from HaVACo and Team BCR.”
Allison also mentioned, “I’d like to congratulate my teammate, Grant Enfinger, on winning the race. The team along with Grant and I work on our cars together at the shop so it’s rewarding to see our hard work paid off.”
Allison and Team BCR hope to bring the No. 88 Havacosales.com Ford Fusion to Mobile International Speedway on March 22.
Team Manager and Crew Chief, Howard Bixman said, “It’s too bad this happened for Justin and the team. A lot of dedication and effort went into Justin’s car. He ran in the top ten and proved throughout speed weeks, he has the ability to be a winner in this series. I‘d like to thank HaVACo for their support. Now it’s just time to focus on the next race on our schedule, so we can have a strong finish Justin is more than capable of.”
