Biffle Overcomes On-Track Damage to Finish 25th at Bristol

No. 16 Cheez-It Ford Fusion Recap:

BRISTOL, Tenn. (August 23, 2015) – Greg Biffle battled track position and grip during Saturday night’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway. Biffle started 17th in the No. 16 Cheez-It Ford but battled handling over the 500-lap race. Just as luck seemed to be going Biffle’s way with a well-timed caution, an accident on the ensuing restart caused damage to the No. 16. After a few pit stops for repairs Biffle was able to make it to the end to finish 25th.

Saturday night short track racing at Bristol Motor Speedway is always a favorite for fans and drivers. Biffle had a strong run at Bristol in the spring, as well as one year ago in the night race. Biffle started the race in the 17th position and was a little free over the opening run.

After a few adjustments, the No. 16 Cheez-It Ford went from a little loose to plowing tight. Biffle lost ground to the leaders while battling his own Ford. Towards the end of the race the team opted to take the “wave around” and get back one of their lost laps. An accident further up in the field on the restart bunched up the field and damaged Biffle’s Ford. With multiple pit stops to repair the Cheez-It Ford, Biffle was able to salvage a 25th-place finish.
