Burton Ready for First Intermediate Track Race of the Season at Atlanta

No. 43 J. Streicher Team Poised for Top-10 Finish

Fresh off a 25th-place finish at Daytona International Speedway, NASCAR XFINITY Series driver Jeb Burton and the No. 43 J. Streicher Ford team are ready to race at the first intermediate track of the season. The newly formed team had a quick turnaround to head to Daytona. With one race under their belts, the team looks forward to competing for Top-Five and Top-10 finishes. With 13 of 33 races at intermediate tracks, the team will focus on having a good finish this weekend to kick off the season on a good note.

Burton has just one start at Atlanta Motor Speedway last season in the Sprint Cup Series. Despite his inexperience at the Georgia track, Burton has experience and success at other intermediate race tracks. He scored a win in the Camping World Truck Series at Texas Motor Speedway in 2013. He also scored four Top-Fives and 11 Top-10s at intermediate tracks in that series. In his two intermediate track starts, he finished eighth at Kentucky Speedway and 15th at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Richard Petty Motorsports has one Top-10 and two Top-15 finishes in its four starts at Atlanta Motor Speedway.

J. Streicher will return to the hood of the No. 43 Ford Mustang for their second NASCAR race as primary sponsor.
“Atlanta is a worn out track, which plays in my favor. It puts a lot of control in the driver’s hands. Although I don’t have a lot of experience at Atlanta, I’ve had a lot of success on the mile-and-a-half tracks in the truck series with four poles and a win at mile-and-a-half tracks. I ran two XFINITY races at intermediate tracks and finished in the Top-15 in both races, so I feel confident we can hit the ground running this weekend. The guys are working hard. We started a little behind, but we’re excited to get to Atlanta and get working on some Top-10 finishes.”
