Brian Scott and the No. 44 Team Look to Rebound in Las Vegas to Start West Coast Swing

Albertsons Companies and Whitetail to adorn hood of No. 44 Ford Fusion

After battling a tough handling Ford Fusion for 500 miles at Atlanta Motor Speedway last weekend, Brian Scott and the No. 44 Albertsons/White Tail team are looking forward – and west – to the 1.5-mile track at Las Vegas Motor Speedway this weekend. The race is the first of the three-race west coast swing and is also a homecoming for Idaho-native Scott in more ways than one. Scott, competing in his rookie year in the Sprint Cup Series, raced in a Cup car at Las Vegas in 2015 and will use that experience to rebound from the 31st place finish in Atlanta.

Scott has impressive statistics throughout his XFINITY Series and Sprint Cup Series career at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. In six races in the XFINITY Series, he has three Top-15 finishes, his highest finish seventh in the 2014 race, and started in the Top-10 for five of the six races. In the Sprint Cup Series in 2015, Scott earned a 13th-place finish. Scott will look to improve on that this weekend in the No. 44 Albertsons/White Tail Ford Fusion and work his way in the points.

Albertsons Companies and Whitetail will team up for the first of four primary races this season – all running in West Coast races. Albertsons Companies is one of the largest food and drug retailers in the United States, operating more than 2,276 stores across 35 states and the District of Columbia under 18 well-known banners.

Whitetail is an exclusive gated community located in McCall, Idaho, with recreational amenities including golf, water skiing, hiking and snow skiing. Whitetail also is operated under the same management as Shore Lodge, one of Idaho’s top getaway locations.

Fans will be able to see Scott at 2:00 p.m. on Friday for a Fan Q&A at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Neon Garage main stage.

When: Friday, March 4 from 2:00 – 2:15 p.m.
Where: Las Vegas Motor Speedway Neon Garage Main Stage

“Heading into Las Vegas, the surface, the handling and everything is a lot different from Atlanta. I like Vegas. I ran Vegas in the Cup car, so I have some experience there. We had a good race at Vegas and had a Top-15 finish last year, so that gives me some excitement and confidence knowing that I’ve got that experience. With the low-downforce package, I’m optimistic for it after testing it last weekend in Atlanta, and we’ll have some time to work through what we learned during the test day on Thursday.”

No. 44 Twisted Tea Ford

A performance and marketing driven company, Richard Petty Motorsports, co-owned by NASCAR Hall of Famer Richard Petty and successful business entrepreneur Andrew Murstein, is one of the most recognized brands in all of motorsports. With a history of over 200 wins and business partnerships with national and global leaders, today the race operation fields two teams in competition in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with drivers Aric Almirola and Brian Scott. Almirola will return to the iconic No. 43 Ford with partners Smithfield Foods, STP, United States Air Force and the “Fresh From Florida” campaign. Scott will make his debut with the team and drive the Petty Family No. 44 Ford. Albertsons Companies, Shore Lodge, Twisted Tea and GoBowling.com will join Scott as he competes for Rookie of the Year in his first full-time season in the Sprint Cup Series. Richard Petty Motorsports will also field the No. 43 Ford Mustang in the NASCAR XFINITY Series with driver Jeb Burton, who will compete for Rookie of the Year in his first full-time season with partner J. Streicher. The team is headquartered in Mooresville, N.C.
