Brian Scott and the No. 44 Team Powering Forward to Fontana

VONS and Whitetail to Adorn Hood of No. 44 Ford Fusion

Following a 27th-place finish in Phoenix, Brian Scott and the No. 44 Albertsons/Whitetail Ford team are powering ahead to the two-mile D-shaped speedway in Fontana, California. Scott struggled early in the race at Phoenix, battling a tight racecar and unable to find the grip needed to speed the Ford Fusion to the front. The No. 44 team will look to change that this weekend at Auto Club Speedway, a track that Scott is familiar with in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

Scott has competed in the Sprint Cup Series race at Auto Club the past two seasons, finishing 32nd in 2014 and 27th in 2015. He also has eight starts from the XFINITY Series, seven of those Top-15 finishes with four Top-10 finishes, and one of those being a Top-Five finish in 2012 in which he finished fourth. He has also started on the front row, starting second in 2015.

VONS, a banner store under the Albertsons umbrella, and Whitetail will be featured on the hood of the No. 44 Ford Fusion. Albertsons Companies will also be featured, this weekend on the trunk. Fans will have the opportunity to meet Scott at Autograph Alley throughout the weekend, as well as at the VONS Track Store on Sunday morning.

“I love California. It’s a great track. It’s a track where when the tires and the grip are good, you can make pretty good time on the bottom, and as it starts to fall away, you move around everywhere. You can go from the bottom to the apron all the way up against the wall. It’s a really fun track for a driver when you have that many options and you have bumps. It’s a fun challenge. With so many options, it’s dependent on track conditions and where the people in front of you are running to decide where you’re going to run. If another driver is running the same groove as you, even though it may be your best line or your favorite line, you may be better off running another line just to get into clean air. I’m looking forward to running in California this weekend and hopefully getting our Ford Fusion to the front of the field.”
