CHASTAIN READY FOR RICHMOND

RICHMOND, Va. – Ross Chastain has a solid record at Richmond International Raceway.

In two Xfinity Series races at the three-quarter-mile track last year, Chastain scored runs of 17th and 15th, both in JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Chevrolets.

Chastain hopes to improve on those numbers in Saturday’s ToyotaCare 250, the eighth race of the Xfinity season.

“I like Richmond a lot,” Chastain said. “It’s a short track, but it’s fast, and you have to be on your toes. It’s a good track to pass on when your car is set up right.”

Chastain, driving the Florida Watermelon Association Chevrolet this weekend, is 13th in Xfinity points entering the race.

Practice is scheduled at 12:30 p.m. (ET) and 3 p.m. Friday. Qualifying is set for 9:35 a.m. Saturday. For the second time, the field for the feature will be set through a pair of heat races. The first 35-lap heat is scheduled for 12:30 p.m., with the second heat to follow immediately.

The 140-lap main event is scheduled for 1:45 p.m.
