ADVANCE NOTES

Reed at Talladega Superspeedway

Reed has two starts in the NASCAR XFINITY Series at Talladega Superspeedway. In 2014, Reed qualified fourth and led the opening 29 laps of the race before getting caught up in a wreck on Lap 62 and finishing in the 24th position. In this race last year, Reed finished 32nd after qualifying ninth and getting caught up in a wreck while running in the top 10.

2016 Season

Reed is currently ninth in the NASCAR XFINITY Series championship standings after eight races.

Reed on Talladega

“I really just want to stay out of trouble this weekend after getting caught up in the ‘big one’ the two times I have raced at Talladega. I’m pretty comfortable with pack racing, but feel like there’s a lot more moving around at this track than at our other superspeedway, Daytona. Roush Fenway has always done well at these tracks and I know we can bring home a top 10 if we can get out with a clean racecar.”

Richmond Recap

Reed took home an 11th-place finish on Saturday afternoon at Richmond International Raceway after starting 18th in the 140-lap main event. Despite fighting the car’s handling for much of the day and getting caught up in a wreck with fewer than 10 laps remaining, Reed drove the No. 16 Ford Mustang to a top-15 finish.

Appearances

Reed will participate in the NASCAR XFINITY Series autograph session on Friday, April 29th at 2:30 p.m. CST at the Legends Hospitality Village at Talladega Superspeedway. To guarantee a spot in line, each fan will need a wristband, which can be picked up for free from the Guest Services Office located at OV Hill South Grandstand, Section L. Those who don’t have wristbands will be allowed in the line and will be able to get autographs only if time permits

Reed will participate in Race Fever, an annual fundraising event benefiting the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind Foundation, on Friday, April 29th from 6:30-8:00 p.m. CST.  The event, which takes place at the FOX Sports 1 Dome within the International Motorsports Hall of Fame complex at Talladega Superspeedway, features a BBQ dinner, entertainment, live and silent auction, driver interviews and autographs.

Tune-in

Reed and the rest of the NASCAR XFINITY Series will take the green flag from Talladega Superspeedway on Saturday, April 30th at 2 p.m. CST on FOX and MRN.
