Austin Dillon Caps Off Winning Bristol Weekend with Top-Five Finish in Dow Chevrolet

“It was challenging day for our Dow Chevrolet. We didn’t really have a car capable of winning the race, but we definitely tried. We struggled finding grip in the beginning of the race. My arms are wore out, I know that. I’m proud of the adjustments that Slugger (Labbe, crew chief) and the guys made. They had a good pit stop there at the end and really helped us out and gained us spots to have the outside on the restart, and it was fun. You could tell I was a little tighter than Kevin Harvick on the bottom and he jumped the top and pulled away from me. I’m glad Bristol tried to get the bottom working because that top is going to be dominant the longer we run. We had to adjust the car to get it free for the top, and then back to tight on the bottom. A lot of chasing grip, it makes it fun racing and reminds me of the dirt days when we’re trying to chase the grip. It was a solid day, especially in our drive to make the Chase, I’m really happy.”

Paul Menard Shows Speed at Bristol Motor Speedway before Late-Race Incident

“Danny (Stockman, crew chief) and the Knauf/Menards team brought a fast Chevrolet to Bristol this weekend. We didn’t qualify where we wanted to, but we made up a lot of ground when the race finally went green. We were able to put ourselves in the top five after a two-tire stop and were running solid lap times when a few cars in front of us got together. We caught a piece of debris in the radiator and had to come to the garage. The 27 guys worked hard to replace the radiator and get us back out on track. It’s unfortunate. We had a really good Knauf/Menards Chevrolet and definitely deserved a top- 10. We are leaving here with our heads high and are looking forward to a good run in Michigan next weekend.”

Cut Tire Halts Ryan Newman’s Strong Run at Bristol Motor Speedway

“It was a tough day for this Caterpillar team at Bristol (Motor Speedway). We cut a tire early in the race and had to make multiple stops to fix the damage. This was definitely not the result we expected coming in, but I’m proud of Luke (Lambert, crew chief) and this entire race team who kept digging throughout the day. We’ll aim for a much better result at Michigan next weekend.”
