Richard Petty Motorsports Bad Boy Off Road 300 Qualifying Report

New Hampshire Motor Speedway

Richard Petty Motorsports traveled to New England this weekend in preparation for Sunday’s 300-mile race at the flat, one-mile New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The team unloaded on Friday for a morning practice session followed by qualifying in the afternoon live on NBC Sports Network.

Starting Positions:
25: Brian Scott, No. 44 Shaws/Shore Lodge Ford Fusion
26: Aric Almirola, No. 43 Smithfield Ford Fusion

Comments from Scott after Qualifying:

“We had a really solid practice and had a better qualifying session today. We kept getting faster throughout practice, and overall, our handling in our No. 44 Shaw’s Ford was one of the best we’ve had all season as a team. We had a decent run in qualifying the first time out, but just needed a little bit more to advance into Round 2. In the second run, I thought I was definitely going to have a faster lap, but we were a little tight on the exit of the turns. It’s going to get colder and sunny tomorrow, the opposite from today, but I’m really optimistic going into practice tomorrow that we can get the car even faster and have a good run on Sunday.”

Comments from Almirola after Qualifying:
“I thought we would be better than that. I feel we have a good car. We were loose in all our runs, but it’s because the track really changed. We need to adjust to the track and get some of that speed and balance back. Going back to race trim, I feel we’ll be in good shape for Sunday.”
