Corey LaJoie Stalled by Rare Parts Failure in Homestead

HOMESTEAD, FLORIDA (November 21, 2016) – The last month of the 2016 NASCAR season has been a rough one for Corey LaJoie and the character building continued in the NASCAR XFINITY Series season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.  A rare parts failure at the halfway point of the race would relegate the No. 24 youtheory Toyota to the garage for repairs and ultimately a disappointing 35th place finish.

“Unfortunately a parts failure kept us from finishing the race,” said LaJoie.  “Our No. 24 youtheory Toyota was a solid top 20 car until the failure.  We were adjusting on it early in the race and getting it a little better.  I just hate that our season ended that way.”

LaJoie would start the 300-mile season finale from the 21st position as a result of his qualifying effort earlier in the day.  The No. 24 youtheory would battle a tight condition and lose some spots to the field before a lap 23 caution allowed for a trip down pit road for needed adjustments.

Corey and his JGL Racing crew would continue to make adjustments before disaster struck around the halfway mark of the event.  A loose oil line relegated the No. 24 youtheory to the garage for necessary repairs. LaJoie would return to the track briefly once the repairs were completed but would eventually retire in the closing laps with the disappointing 35th place finish.

“I really appreciate the support of youtheory this season and all of the hard work by everyone at JGL Racing,” added Corey.  “We had a rough end to the season but we had some bright moments as well.  I look forward to what the future holds for next race season.”
