No. 32 Dollar General Chevrolet News and Notes

• Last Start of 2011 with Turner Motorsports – Mark Martin will make his final NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start this weekend with Turner Motorsports at Kentucky Speedway. In his first three starts, Martin posted one win, one top-five and three top-10 finishes. The win came at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and was the first victory for Turner Motorsports in 2011.

• Wearing His Rookie Stripes – Even though Martin is a 22-year veteran of the NNS, he will be making his first start at Kentucky Speedway this weekend and therefore will be deemed a “rookie”. While Martin will be on track in his No. 5 Hendrick Motorsports Chevy during the NNS rookie meeting, the No. 32 Dollar General Chevy will still have the bright yellow “rookie stripe” across the rear bumper.

• Still Searching for No. 50 – Just as it is his final 2011 start with Turner Motorsports, this weekend also signifies Martin’s final opportunity this season to get to victory lane for his 50th career NNS win. Even though there is fierce competition for the title from Kyle Busch, who has 48 series victories, Martin still is the all-time win leader in the series and looking to get No. 50 at Kentucky Speedway.

• A Model of Consistency – The No. 32 Dollar General team continues to impress with extremely consistent stats throughout the first half of the season. In 17 starts, the Trent Owens-led Dollar General team has scored two wins, eight top-five and 15 top-10 finishes. For the second consecutive weekend, the No. 32 team leads the NNS point standings.

• Heading Home – This weekend is a homecoming for a member of the No. 32 Dollar General team. Mechanic Rob “Porkchop” Tracy hails from the capitol city of Frankfort, KY, located just under 60 miles from Kentucky Speedway.

• This Week’s Impala – This weekend, Martin will pilot TMS-130 in the Feed the Children 300 on Friday evening. This is the same chassis he drove three weeks ago at Michigan International Speedway where he started 11th and finished seventh

Martin on his final start of 2011 with Turner Motorsports:

“I’ve had a lot of fun racing for Turner Motorsports this season. We were fortunate enough to get the win at Las Vegas and have had a few really solid runs in the meantime. I’m real hopeful we can get that Dollar General car to victory lane again this weekend at Kentucky. It would be a great way to finish off my time with the team. I can’t thank everyone at Turner (Motorsports) and Dollar General enough for giving me the opportunity to get in their cars a few times this year. They are a great group of guys and I’ve had a blast working with them.”
