ADVANCE NOTES

Stenhouse at Homestead-Miami Speedway

Stenhouse has six Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series (MENCS) starts at Homestead-Miami Speedway (HMS) with an average starting position of 16.3 and average finishing position of 25.0.

So far in the 2018 MENCS season, Stenhouse Jr. has scored three top-five and five top-10 finishes and led a career high of 133 laps.

Last Year at Homestead

After working his way inside the top-10 with less than 70 laps remaining, the Roush Fenway Racing driver suffered a flat left rear tire a few laps after a scheduled pit-stop forcing Stenhouse to bring his Fastenal Ford to pit-road for two left side tires.

After falling back to the 23rd position, Stenhouse worked his way back up to the 15th position and was scored once again in the lucky dog position. Unfortunately, the race stayed green forcing Stenhouse to settle with a 15th-place finish.

On the Car

Fastenal is currently in its seventh season as a primary partner in the MENCS for Roush Fenway. They spent three years on the No. 99 before jumping over to the No. 17 entry, and were the primary partner on the No. 60 XFINITY team that captured the owner’s championship in 2011.

Florida Native

Veteran crew chief Brian Pattie is from Zephyrills, Florida, which is about 4 hours from Homestead-Miami.

Stenhouse Jr. on racing at Homestead:

“I always look forward to Ford Championship weekend. We have definitely made some improvements to our intermediate program which showed at Kansas and Texas. We’ve had some bad luck at Homestead in the past and didn’t get the finishes we’ve deserved. Our goal is to have a solid race weekend and end the season on a strong note.”
