CONCORD, N.C. (August 23, 2011) – For the second time this season, Fastenal will sponsor all three Roush Fenway entries in a single NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race, this time at famed half-mile concrete oval of Bristol Motor Speedway.
Fastenal’s blue and white colors will be featured on three of the fastest cars in the series. The all-star lineup includes the No. 60 Fastenal Ford Mustang driven by series champion Carl Edwards, who has already racked up five NNS victories this season (including four with Fastenal as the primary sponsor); the No. 6 Fastenal Ford Mustang of NNS points leader Ricky Stenhouse Jr.; and the No. 16 Fastenal Ford Mustang driven by 2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne.
“Last time we ran three Fastenal cars at Charlotte it worked out great, so hopefully it will go just as well in Bristol,” said Edwards. “Fastenal has been an amazing partner. They are great guys, they are great to work with, and they love racing. There couldn’t be a better place to run the Fastenal fleet than the night race at Bristol.”
So far in 2011 the three drivers have combined for seven NNS wins, 26 top-fives, 43 top-10s and seven poles, while leading 1,676 laps. The “Fastenal Fleet” will look to repeat its success at Charlotte Motor Speedway in May, when the No. 16, No. 60 and No. 6 Fastenal Ford Mustangs finished first, second and fourth respectively, with Kenseth driving the No. 16 car to victory.
“As a sponsor, you can’t do much better than we did at Charlotte,” said Cory Jansen, Fastenal’s Executive Vice President, Operations. “Still, with drivers like Carl, Ricky and Trevor, you can’t rule out the possibility of 1-2-3 finish on Friday night.”
Roush Fenway boasts five wins in the Nationwide Series at Bristol, while posting 20 top-five and 26 top-10 finishes; leading over 1,300 laps in NNS action.
Each car will promote a different market offering from Fastenal, a national distributor of industrial and construction supplies. Edwards’ No. 60 car will display the logos of Fastenal and its top suppliers. Stenhouse Jr.’s No. 6 will feature Fastenal’s industrial vending technology as well as the company’s exclusive FMT™ cutting tool brand. And Bayne’s No. 16 will display Fastenal’s exclusive Body Guard™ safety products brand.
Friday’s (August 26) race will be televised live on ESPN at 7:00 p.m. EST.
