The Home Depot Team Notes of Interest

· Joey Logano and The Home Depot Team return to Talladega Superspeedway where Logano has earned four top-10 finishes in just five starts at the Alabama track. Logano has led at least one lap in every start at the track since his rookie season. The racing at Talladega changed significantly from years past when it was four wide and nine cars deep. The Aaron’s 499 in April was about two-car tandems where the drivers were on each other’s radios maneuvering through traffic. Logano, despite losing his drafting partner in the final laps, was able to find a car and push his way to a 10th-place finish.

· Meet Logano! Logano will be at The Home Depot store in Pelham, Ala., on Thursday signing autographs for fans from 6 – 7:30 p.m. The store is located at 3191 Pelham Parkway. In addition to the signing, the No. 20 Toyota Camry will be there as well. Wristbands will be distributed one hour before the appearance begins to the first 700 fans.

· Logano will appear on Man V. Food Nation Wednesday night at 9 p.m. ET, attempting to conquer the Atomic Bomb Food Challenge. The task: In 30 minutes, finish a three-pound bacon double cheeseburger loaded with pulled pork and a meaty hot sauce over a pound of fries. In anticipation of Logano’s Oct. 19 appearance on the Travel Channel’s Man v Food Nation, the show’s social networking Facebook page, http://www.facebook.com/ManVFood, will have exclusive deals on Logano merchandise, an opportunity for fans to win an autographed hood and exclusive interviews with the driver of the No. 20 Home Depot Toyota.

· Logano and The Home Depot Team participated in the Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) test at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Monday along with several other NASCAR Sprint Cup teams. The team will also participate in another EFI test on Thursday at Talladega Superspeedway in preparation for the change in 2012.

· About the last race: It appeared an ill-timed caution would cost Logano and The Home Depot Team a good finish at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday night. However their luck turned around with 50 laps to go and Logano took the checkered flag in the 12th position.

· Crew chief Greg Zipadelli and the No. 20 Home Depot Team are bringing chassis #293 for the Good Sam 500. Logano drove this chassis in the Daytona 500 and to a top-10 finish at Talladega in April.

· The Home Depot Toyota will continue to honor The Celebration of Service, a partnership between The Home Depot Foundation and the Mission Continues to improve the homes and lives of veterans and their families, during the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races until Nov. 11 (Veterans Day). The goal of Celebration of Service is to complete more than 200 projects during the two month time frame to “Serve Those Who Served Us All.” The rear quarter panel of the No. 20 car will carry a special Celebration of Service decal while the crew members will have patches on their uniforms and wear hats showcasing the unique partnership. Fans can show their support by purchasing a 3 Doors Down CD from www.homedepot.com with $1 of the sale going directly to the veterans’ housing initiatives or purchasing a specially-themed Home Depot gift card with 5 percent of the value placed on the card going to nonprofit organizations also serving the housing needs of veterans. Logano quotes on Talladega:

“I know with the bigger restrictor plate and the two-car draft we are going to being going fast and on the edge. I know with the new rule the plan is to get away from that, but I don’t think it will put an end to it. I think it will make us have to switch a lot more so the motors don’t overheat, but I think you will still see the two-car draft. I could be wrong; I guess we will see this weekend.”

On EFI Test:

“The test went pretty well at Charlotte, everyone has been working hard to get everything figured out. I could feel a difference, the motor feels crisper and cleaner and it doesn’t stumble at all. I’m not sure if I will notice much on Thursday at Talladega or not.”
