“Mike Kelly is just a great crew chief,” added Stenhouse. “I complain a lot, but he gets the job done. I wasn’t sure about no changes thereat the end, but Kelly knows what he’s doing and I’m just glad to be a part of this race team.”
Stenhouse, who led 69 laps in the race, took the lead for the final time with 24 laps remaining and never let go, despite a late charge by Hamlin.
“He’s done a tremendous job all year,” said Kelly. “I’m so happy for Pure Michigan, Ford and Jack Roush. I just can’t think Jack Rouse and (general manager) Robbie (Reiser) and all the guys back at the shop.”
