No. 30 Qualcomm Autotrac Chevrolet News & Notes

This week’s Silverado – The No. 30 Qualcomm/Autotrac team is bringing chassis TMS-210 to Kansas Speedway for 167 laps around the 1.5-mile track. This will be the first time this chassis TMS-210 has been used in competition. Green, Green, Green…. – The No. 30 team will be running a “zero-carbon” decal on their Silverado this weekend. Piquet Jr. has teamed up with climatecare.org to bring more fan awareness to the issue of CO2 emissions. Climatecare.org is an independent organization that works to offset the environmental impact companies can have on the environment. Using ethanol has helped decrease emissions in NASCAR by over 20% in the last two years. For more information head to www.climatecare.org The best things in life are free… – Kansas Speedway is offering fans free admission on Friday April 20th to catch all the action of NCWTS practice sessions. An on-sight donation is suggested to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Tweet, Tweet… – With over 280,000 followers on Twitter, Piquet Jr. is worth a follow. If you follow his account you will get live updates throughout the races, and have plenty of chances to win Piquet Jr. prizes. Last weekend at Rockingham Speedway one lucky fan walked away with a free diecast, all thanks to following @NelsonPiquet on Twitter. Previous race recap – Piquet Jr. and the No. 30 Turner Motorsports team had the dominant truck for last weekend’s inaugural race at Rockingham Speedway. The Brazilian native claimed his first NCWTS pole and led 107 laps of the 200-lap event. An unfortunate pit road speeding penalty forced the team restart from the back of the field with 20 laps to go. Piquet Jr. battled back to an impressive seventh-place finish. Watch LIVE – Coverage of the SFP 200 will be live from Kansas Speedway on April 21, 2012 at 2:00 pm EST on SPEED, with pre-race coverage starting at 1:30 pm EST. The No. 30 truck will be featured on SPEED this weekend with cameras following the Qualcomm/Autotrac team around, as well as an in-truck camera to catch all the action. For even more coverage you can also tune in to MRN Radio or SiriusXM Satellite NASCAR channel 90.

Nelson Piquet Jr. on returning to Kansas Speedway

“After a weekend like we just had at Rockingham Speedway, I’m definitely ready to get back behind the wheel. Last weekend really showed how competitive my team is, as well as Turner Motorsports as a whole.”

Crew Chief Chris Carrier on Nelson Piquet Jr. at Kansas Speedway

“Nelson ran very well at Kansas Speedway last year, so heading back to a comfortable track is a good thing. The layout of a track like Kansas fits his driving style very well. The surface is very rough because of the climate, but after Nelson’s run at a bumpy track like Rockingham Speedway, I’m not worried about how rough it is. Our team will be very competitive this weekend”
