News & Notes:

This Week’s Toyota … Kenny Wallace will pilot RAB Racing with Brack Maggard Chassis No. 38 in Saturday’s Aaron’s 312 at Talladega Superspeedway. This chassis last saw action in the season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, where Wallace led a lap early and had a strong run going, but an unavoidable multi-car incident on lap 104 eliminated the St. Louis native prematurely, crediting him with a 29th-place finish.

Ride Along with the 99 … The No. 99 Toyota will have an in-car camera for this weekend’s race coverage on ABC, courtesy of primary sponsor American Ethanol. Cameras mounted on the roof, rear bumper and interior of Wallace’s Camry will provide interesting views as the 48-year-old driver navigates the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway.

Wallace at Talladega… In 14 Nationwide Series starts at Talladega Superspeedway, Wallace boasts one top-five and four top-10 finishes. His best showing at the 2.66-mile track is a third-place finish, which he achieved in July, 1995. The nine-time Nationwide Series race winner has an average starting position of 23.3 and an average finish of 18.4. Additionally, Wallace has competed in 24 Sprint Cup Series races at the Alabama Superspeedway. His best and most well known finish of second came in 2000 when he pushed the late Dale Earnhardt to his final Cup Series victory at Talladega Superspeedway.

RAB Racing at Talladega … RAB Racing with Brack Maggard has competed in three Nationwide Series events at Talladega Superspeedway since their inaugural year of Nationwide Series competition in 2009. The Concord, N.C.-based team’s best finish at the famed Alabama Superspeedway is 18th, where they have finished twice (April, 2009 and April, 2010).

Zipadelli at Talladega … Scott Zipadelli, crew chief of the No. 99 Toyota Camry, has sat atop the pit box at Talladega Superspeedway five times in his Nationwide Series career, amassing one top-five and two top-10 finishes, all with driver Jason Leffler.

Going Green … American Ethanol returns as the primary sponsor of the No. 99 RAB Racing machine this weekend. Ethanol reduces America’s dependence on foreign oil, is better for our environment and grows our economy by supporting more than 400,000 jobs in the United States. Kenny Wallace Quotes:

“Talladega Superspeedway has been one of the best tracks of my career. It is very exciting for me to compete at this track and the fans are always on their feet. Now with my limited schedule, I’m trying to make this race count. I’m going to do everything I can to win.”

Scott Zipadelli Quotes:

“Talladega Superspeedway is the easiest track we go to. Setup is simple, it doesn’t wear tires, and the cars always handle well. It is all up to the driver to position himself, find a drafting partner, and find speed. Kenny’s run well at restrictor plate races in the past, and we feel that we’ve prepared a strong American Ethanol ToyotaCamry that can run up front and have a strong finish.”
