NEWTON, IA – May 14, 2012 – Travis Pastrana, the action sports star turned NASCAR driver, is now confirmed for both the Graham Tire 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series race and the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race.
Pastrana, who made his Nationwide Series debut at Richmond International Raceway, will be making his third career NASCAR Nationwide Series Sunday, May 20 at 1:00 p.m.
“I am thrilled to add Iowa to my NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. I have been pretty pleased with my performance in my first two Nationwide races and I just hope to continue to improve with each start. Our goal this year was to add as many Nationwide races to my schedule as possible and with the help of Robby Benton and my sponsors we were able to add Iowa this weekend,” said Pastrana.
Iowa Speedway CEO, Doug Fritz, expressed how excited Iowa Speedway is to have someone like Pastrana running in both races.
“Travis has a very dedicated following and we are very ecstatic to have him running both race this upcoming weekend,” said Fritz. “We have had several inquires about him running in the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250, and not just the Graham Tire 150; today, we are excited to confirm that he will be racing in both events.”
Pastrana joins an already star-studded entry list for the Pioneer Hi-Bred 250, including drivers Ricky Stenhouse Jr, Danica Patrick, 2004 NASCAR Sprint Cup Champion Kurt Busch, Sam Hornish Jr., Elliott Sadler, and Michael Annett. The 2012 Iowa Speedway season gets under way Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. with the Graham Tire 150 NASCAR K&N Pro Series race.
