San Antonio (June 26, 2012) – Zachry Holdings, Inc.-sponsored NASCAR driver David Starr and the Arrington Racing team will head to the Kentucky Speedway with the No. 81 Zachry Toyota Tundra for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) UNOH 225 in Sparta Kentucky, Thursday, June 28, 2012.
Starr finished in 13th place at the WinStar World Casino 400 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Ft. Worth, June 8, 2012. The Texas race presented unique challenges with practice limited due to inclement weather. With such a brief practice session, the team consistently had to make adjustments to the truck throughout the race.
The starting position was based on owner’s points, leaving No. 81 starting in the 17th position. Still, Starr managed to finish with 14thin points, 26 points from 10th in points, while nearly 400 Zachry employees and guests from nearby job sites came out in support.
“Preparation is key in any race,” Starr said. “Even with a short time for practice and planning, Arrington Racing was right there to help make the right call in tough situations during the race. We expect a great outcome as we head to Kentucky.”
The Kentucky Speedway, completed in 2000, runs 1.5 miles with a banking of 14° turns, 8° frontstretch and 4° backstretch. The frontstretch reaches 1,662 feet and the backstretch is at 1,600 feet.
