Corey Heim and John Hunter Nemechek will each be driving the No. 5 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro entry for TRICON Garage for an upcoming pair of NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events in the month of August.
Heim, the reigning Truck Series champion from Marietta, Georgia, will step up first in driving the No. 5 entry sponsored by Alpha Craft Technologies this upcoming Friday, August 14, at Richmond Raceway in Richmond, Virginia, for the Black’s Tire 250. It will mark his seventh Truck start of the 2026 season, his 96th series start overall and first since he competed at North Wilkesboro Speedway this past July.
Heim is the reigning Truck race winner at Richmond, with the track being the site of where he achieved his seventh of a record-breaking 12 victories en route to his first championship in 2025. As Heim strives to join Mike Skinner, Jack Sprague and Tony Stewart as the only competitors to achieve multiple Truck victories at Richmond, he also strives to join the latter as the only ones to win at Richmond in back-to-back seasons.
Heim has achieved a trio of victories, five top-10 results and 228 laps led through his six previous Truck starts with TRICON in 2026. One of his three victories occurred in the No. 5 entry at Darlington Raceway in mid-March after he executed a last-lap pass on Ross Chastain amid two overtime shootouts. He has also notched a pair of victories in the Cup Series division with 23XI Racing, including this year’s Brickyard 400 in mid-July, as he is set for a full-time campaign in 2027.
Following Heim’s campaign at Richmond, Nemechek will compete in the next-scheduled event on August 22 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in Loudon, New Hampshire, for the Team EJP 175. The 29-year-old Nemechek from Mooresville, North Carolina, will be sponsored by Dollar Tree for his first Truck start in six months before he then competes in his full-time Cup Series ride, the No. 42 Toyota Camry XSE entry, with Legacy Motor Club the following date, August 23.
Nemechek has finished in the top-nine mark in three of four previous Truck starts at New Hampshire, with his best results being a pair of fifth-place finishes in 2014 and 2015. As Nemechek strives to become the 19th competitor to win a Truck event at New Hampshire, he will also strive to claim his first victory in the series since Kansas Speedway in early September 2022.
Nemechek has accumulated 13 victories, nine poles, 52 top-five results, 84 top-10 results, 1,660 laps led and an average-finishing result of 12.4 through 151 previous starts in the Truck Series division. He campaigned in the series’ first two events of this season at Daytona International Speedway and EchoPark Speedway in mid-February, where he finished fifth and eighth, respectively. Nemechek, who last competed in a Truck event with TRICON at EchoPark in mid-March 2023, is also currently ranked in 28th place in the 2026 Cup Series standings and holds two top-10 results through 23-scheduled events in his third full-time campaign in the series while driving for Legacy Motor Club overall.
TRICON Garage’s No. 5 Toyota team, which is led by crew chief Seth Smith, is currently ranked in 16th place in the 2026 Truck owner’s standings, with the entry being piloted to Victory Lane by Heim at Darlington and racking up three top-10 results through 16-scheduled events. Additional competitors who have piloted the No. 5 entry throughout this season along with Heim include Nick Leitz, Adam Andretti, Chase Briscoe, William Sawalich, Spencer Davis, Graham Doyle and Harrison Burton, with Nemechek set to join the No. 5 drivers’ list.
