(August 24, 2026) – In the fast paced, and ever-demanding world of NASCAR Cup Series racing, speed and efficiency play vital roles both on the track and in the air for Michael McDowell and Spire Motorsports as driver and team balance their collective travel demands across a 38-race schedule spanning February – November.
That symbiotic relationship will be on full display when NASCAR’s premier division returns to Daytona International Speedway (DIS) where McDowell will showcase Fly Alliance aboard his No. 71 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Saturday’s Coke Zero Sugar 400.
Spire Motorsports earned its inaugural NASCAR Cup Series victory at DIS in its first full season of competition when Justin Haley took the checkered flag in the 2019 Coke Zero Sugar 400.

McDowell, a 19-year Cup Series veteran and 2021 Daytona 500 Champion has 30 starts at the “World Center of Racing” where he’s logged one pole, one win, three top-five and eight top-10 finishes. Most recently, he came home 22nd in the 2026 season opener.
The Coke Zero Sugar 400 will be televised live on NBC, Saturday, Aug. 29 beginning at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Daylight Time. The 26th of 36 points-paying races on the 2026 NASCAR Cup Series schedule will also be broadcast live on the Motor Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, Channel 90.
