Cory Roper returns to Halmar Friesen Racing to pilot the No. 62 Drydene Toyota Tundra TRD Pro entry for this upcoming Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series’ Love’s RV Stop 225 event at Talladega Superspeedway.
The 49-year-old Roper from Vernon, Texas, finished 34th in his first start with Halmar Friesen Racing at Texas Motor Speedway in May. This upcoming Friday, he will make his fourth Truck start at the 2.660-mile tri-oval superspeedway venue in Lincoln, Alabama.
Friday’s event is also scheduled to mark Roper’s 50th series’ start as this season marks his eighth year competing in at least a single event in the Truck division. Through 49 previous starts, the Texan has recorded an average-finishing result of 23.5, 16 top-20 results and three top-10 results. The latter stats includes a career-best third-place result during the 2021 season-opening event at Daytona International Speedway. Roper’s current highest-finishing result at Talladega is sixth, which occurred in 2021, as he attempts to become the eighth competitor to secure a first Truck career victory at Talladega on Friday.
Halmar Friesen Racing’s No. 62 Toyota entry is currently ranked in 16th place in the 2026 Truck Series’ owner’s standings on the strengths of four top-five results and 10 top-10 results. The entry has been piloted by 10 different competitors through 22-scheduled starts, including one by Roper, and was piloted into Victory Lane by Christopher Bell at Bristol Motor Speedway in April. Kasey Kleyn and Leland Honeyman Jr. are scheduled to compete in the final two-scheduled events of this season at Martinsville Speedway and Homestead-Miami Speedway, respectively, following Friday’s Talladega event.
The 2026 Love’s RV Stop 225 at Talladega Superspeedway is scheduled to occur this upcoming Friday, October 23, at 4 p.m. ET on FS1, NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM.
