Toyota Development Driver Kaden Honeycutt Takes 20-Point Lead in Season Finale Next Friday

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (October 30, 2026) – Gio Ruggiero (eighth) and William Sawalich (ninth) both recorded top 10 finishes for TRICON Garage to lead Toyota in Friday night’s NASCAR Truck Series race at Martinsville Speedway.

Toyota development driver Kaden Honeycutt got loose on a late-race restart, lost several spots and finished 14th. He still leads Layne Riggs by 20 points heading into the season finale Friday night at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Honeycutt and Riggs are the only drivers mathematically eligible for the title, and they will settle it under the lights in South Florida to decide the 2026 Truck Series champion.

What did you ask Tristan McKee after the race?

“I had nothing against him. I just wanted to ask him if the 88 (Ty Majeski) hit him or not. When I looked in my mirror and I saw he was sideways, I didn’t know if he got free in or if he got run over, I just wanted to see what he said. (after seeing the replay) He was just trying to get Majeski room and I didn’t get the call that we were three wide until too late. It’s a sucky deal, but I got bailed out there especially with Chandler (Smith) winning that race, I’m really surprised he did that. Yeah, 20 points, but definitely not comfortable in Homestead next week. Just focusing on winning and that’s all we can do. It was a struggle today, I felt like we were good on the long run, just couldn’t fire off and then just made an adjustment there and just went too far. I got all the confidence in the world going to Homestead. Scott (Zipadelli, crew chief) and this whole team loves Homestead, so not concerned for next week. Thanks to Safelite, Mobil 1, TOYOTA RACING, TRICON Garage for all the effort. We aren’t done yet, but we’ve got one more to go. If we can go out on top it would be much nicer.”
