JAMIE MCMURRAY AND THE NO. 1 BASS PRO SHOPS TEAM

McMurray on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/Allstate Chevrolet by following McMurray’s personal Twitter account, @JamieMcMurray.

Daytona Recap: Jamie McMurray, who suffered all weekend with a stomach illness, had a fast Bass Pro Shops Chevrolet as the team would show their muscle with the fastest time of the day in the final practice session on Thursday in drafting practice. On Friday the team would post the 31st fastest time in qualifying. The No. 1 team decided that they would opt to try and race toward the front of the pack, rather than hold back and ride near the rear to avoid the “big one”. McMurray ran among the top-15 for a majority of the race and even suffered minor damage in one of the accidents, still managing to power the wounded Chevrolet home in 13th.

Last Year at New Hampshire: McMurray rolled off 25th and quickly worked his way up to the front of the field. In the closing stages of the race, fuel mileage was not on the No. 1 team’s side as McMurray coasted across the finish line in 31st.

McMurray at New Hampshire: McMurray has made 18 NSCS starts at New Hampshire. In those starts he has raced to two top-five, four top-10 and nine top-20 finishes. He has completed 4,977 laps out of a possible 5,367 laps, or 92.7 percent, and has led 32 laps. McMurray’s average starting position is 20.8 and average finishing position is 22.7. In addition to NSCS experience, McMurray has six NNS starts at Loudon. In those six starts he has qualified on the pole once, July 2004, and led 22 laps in that race.

Intermediate Stats: At intermediate tracks (tracks greater than one mile, but less than two miles), McMurray has 127 NSCS starts. He has earned two victories (Charlotte: 2002, 2010), 16 top-five finishes, 38 top-10 finishes and has led 603 laps.

Double Duty: Jamie McMurray will also run the F.W. Webb 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) race on Saturday afternoon at NHMS. McMurray will drive the No. 30 Turner Motorsports Chevrolet with sponsorship from LiftMaster®, who is also an associate sponsor on McMurray’s No. 1 Bass Pro Shops/McDonald’s Chevrolet. LiftMaster® will also be the primary sponsor on the No. 1 EGR entry when the NSCS returns to NHMS in September.

Raise Our Flag: McMurray and EGR will help support the United States Olympic Committee and their “Raise Our Flag” campaign by donating a stitch in America’s flag for the 2012 Olympic Games in London. “Raise Our Flag” is an official United States Olympic fundraising program with donations providing housing, training and equipment for the most elite athletes in America. JUAN PABLO MONTOYA AND THE NO. 42 DEGREE TEAM

Montoya on Twitter: Catch the latest from the driver of the No. 42 Target Chevrolet by following Montoya’s personal Twitter account, @jpmontoya.

Daytona Recap: The ever so unpredictable superspeedway racing lived up to its reputation Saturday night under the lights. The 160-lap race started calmly as the first caution flag of the night was not displayed until lap 82. Montoya and the Target team raced mid-pack and made a few handling adjustments throughout the evening in preparation for the battle at the end. The second half of the race consisted of six caution flags and unfortunately the No. 42 Chevrolet was involved in one of them with eight laps remaining. The No. 42 was making a charge to the front when an incident occurred in front of him and left him with nowhere to go. The damage was significant causing the team to end the evening early and settle for a 28th-place finish.

Last Year at New Hampshire: Montoya started in eighth-place and spent most of the race working on pit strategy. While running 13th with two laps to go, the Target Chevrolet ran short on fuel and came across the finish line in 30th.

Montoya at New Hampshire: Montoya has made 10 NSCS starts at New Hampshire where he boasts one top-five, two top-10 and six top-20 finishes. He has earned two poles at New Hampshire, September, 2009 and June, 2010. Montoya has led 149 laps and has completed 2,934 laps out of a possible 2,959 laps, or 99.2 percent. His average starting position is 14.8 and his average finishing position is 19.5.

Intermediate Stats: Montoya has 73 NSCS starts at intermediate tracks. In those starts he has earned seven top-five and 13 top-10 finishes. Montoya has led 227 laps at intermediate tracks.

Quality Guy: Montoya ranks third in the last 14 races at New Hampshire in the number average quality passes (passing a car in the top-15, while under a green flag) with 34.2.

Time Flies: Montoya will make his 200th career NSCS start at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Sunday. The Indianapolis 500 and Grand Prix of Monaco winner started his NSCS career at the 2006 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Degree Scheme: The No. 42 will sport a new paint scheme this weekend. Degree will be the primary sponsor, showcasing their new MOTIONSENSE Technology. This new technology is triggered by body movement and releases extra protection throughout the day. Learn more about how to stay cool under pressure with Degree here.
