No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components Chevrolet News and Notes

Two Years Ago…Just four days after the wave of the checkered flag at Michigan International Speedway, the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) will take the green at Bristol Motor Speedway (BMS), the site of Miguel Paludo’s first race in one of NASCAR’s top-three series. Paludo made his NCWTS debut at the 0.533-mile bullring in 2010, earning an impressive ninth-place finish. In his 41-career starts in the series, Paludo has accrued three top-fives and 11 top-10 finishes, as well as one pole.

One Year Ago…Last year in Bristol, Paludo had something to celebrate before the engines were even fired for the 200-lap race: He and wife Patricia welcomed their first child, Oliver, just two days prior to the event. One year later, the Wednesday-night race falls on Oliver’s birthday, and the team will celebrate with a special tribute on the No. 32 Brakes and Components Chevrolet. The truck’s bed will feature an image of Paludo’s son and a happy birthday message, as well as the one-year-old’s name above the right-side door

This Week’s Silverado…Paludo and the No. 32 Duroline Brakes and Components team will unload chassis TMS-205 for this week’s race at Bristol Motor Speedway. TMS-205 last hit the track at Dover International Speedway in June where Paludo finished 12th in a rain-shortened race.

Diabetes Fact of the Week…Looking for a way you can support the Paludo family in their fight against diabetes? Frontstretch.com writer and NCWTS supporter Beth Lunkenheimer is participating in the American Diabetes Association’s Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. Lunkenheimer has chosen to walk for Paludo and his son Oliver, and has set a goal of raising $1,000 for the ADA. If you wish to find out more or make a donation, please visit: http://stepout.diabetes.org then click the Donate button and search for Beth Lunkenheimer under participants.

Previous Race Recap…Paludo earned his second top-10 finish of 2012 at Michigan International Speedway in his debut pairing with new crew chief Jeff Hensley. Paludo ran in the top-five for most of the second half of the 100-lap event before varying pit strategy resulted in a 10th-place finish in the VFW 200.

Miguel Paludo on driving at Bristol Motor Speedway –

“Bristol is a very special track to me for many reasons. It is the place where I made my very first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start in 2010, which was the beginning of a whole new career path for me in NASCAR’s top-three series and a new adventure in my life. It was also the first race I competed in after the birth of my son Oliver in 2011. Having Oliver in our lives has been an amazing journey for my wife Patricia and I, both in terms of being parents and experiencing that whole other level of love, as well as what his diagnosis with diabetes has meant to us and our focus. I’m really looking forward to celebrating his first birthday on race day, and I hope that Bristol will become an even more special place by becoming the place where I get my first win.”
