JASON BOWLES RECOVERS FROM EARLY ACCIDENT TO FINISH 18TH AT BRISTOL

(MOORESVILLE, NORTH CAROLINA) August 26, 2012 – There is no quit in the American Majority No. 81 team. Week-in and week-out, Jason Bowles and his crew battle right to the last lap, and Bristol Friday night was no different. After sustaining damage to the rear end from an early spin and contact with the wall, Bowles and the team made the necessary repairs and clawed their way back into the top-20, recording an 18th place finish at the “World’s Fastest Half-Mile.”

“The car was much better in race trim than qualifying,” explained Bowles. “We moved up quickly early on until I got loose under the 01 car and scraped the wall. The guys did an excellent job getting the car back together and we were able to make our way back towards the front. I really have to thank them and American Majority for all of their support. We couldn’t do it without them.”

After qualifying 26th, Bowles quickly moved up to 18th place by lap 30. On lap 46, Jason got loose under the 01 of Mike Wallace and got into the inside wall, sustaining some damage to the rear end. After making the repairs, Bowles slowly moved back towards the front, moving into the top-20 with just 20 laps to go. Even with the damage, the American Majority No. 81 was fast and Jason was able to move into 18th place before the checkered flag.

In the points, Jason was able to advance one position to 14th in the driver standings. The MacDonald Motorsports No. 81 also moved up one spot in the owner standings, into 22nd.

Next week, the MacDonald Motorsports team heads south to Atlanta Motor Speedway. The NRA American Warrior 300 can be seen live on ESPN2 Saturday at 6:30PM ET.
