Brad Keselowski (No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge Charger R/T) Qualified 13th CAN YOU TALK ABOUT YOUR QUALIFYING LAP? “Our Miller Lite Dodge has been really good in race trim and this has been the best that we’ve been in qualifying at a mile-and-a-half in quite some time. Between our qualifying effort and how our car was in race trim, I’m really encouraged.”
CAN YOU FIND SPEED ALL OVER THE RACE TRACK? “For sure. The Miller Lite Dodge is fast. The great thing about this race track is that you can move around to find speed. I feel like we have a car to do just that tomorrow. I think our race car is fast and I’m looking for a great day tomorrow.”
IS IT A RELIEF TO EARN A TOP-15 STARTING POSITION? “Yep (laughs). It’s no guarantee on how you’re going to race but we didn’t bury ourselves back in the field to start the race. I like fast race cars and I’ll throw away qualifying for a fast race car in race trim all day.”
Sam Hornish Jr. (No. 22 Shell/Pennzoil Dodge Charger R/T) Qualified 16th IT LOOKED LIKE YOU HAD TO SAVE YOUR CAR TWICE IN QUALIFYING? “It was a handful. The Shell/Pennzoil Dodge was really good through (Turns) 1 and 2 and on the back straightaway. The car just got loose a bit and snapped out on me and I had to give the wheel a good tug. It looks like we’ll have a decent starting position. The car was really good in practice yesterday. I could run the car anywhere I wanted on the race track. I’m happy with the car. I just wish I could have gotten a little bit more out I it.”
HOW IS YOUR CAR IN RACE TRIM? “The car was really good in practice. I could run within a tenth of a second on the bottom, middle, and on the top. I feel like we have a car that we can run a lot of different places on the race track with good speed. I think we’ll have a lot of places to pass all day tomorrow. We’re a top-five car right now.”
