Texas Motor Speedway Advance | WinStar World Casino 350

Return to the First: Parker Kligerman, driver of the No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra, will return to the place of his first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series start when the series rolls into Texas Motor Speedway this weekend for the WinStar World Casino 350. Scoring a top-10 finish in that first start and following up with solid finishes at the 1.5-mile oval after that, Kligerman is ready to continue his battle for the championship on Friday.

“Texas is a track that I’ve enjoyed a lot of success at thus far. I got my first top-three NASCAR Camping World Truck Series finish there last spring and I feel like I’ve run very well there every race I’ve run. It’s special because it’s where I made my first start in the series as well and finished top ten that day. I enjoy Texas; it’s a great place, great state and it always puts on a great race,” Kligerman explained.

Tundras in Texas: Prior to the weekend’s events, all three Red Horse Racing drivers and owner Tom DeLoach will visit Toyota Motor Manufacturing Texas in San Antonio, Texas, for a visit with Toyota officials and team members on Wednesday, October 31. They will tour the facility to meet TMMTX team members, as well as see how production Tundras are assembled. The drivers will also take assembled Tundras to the TMMTX test track.

Arthritis Foundation On Board: All three Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundras will carry a special logo for the Arthritis Foundation at Texas Motor Speedway to help promote the Jingle Bell Run/Walk for Arthritis. The Arthritis Foundation in the Texas Region will hold its Jingle Bell Run/Walk in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area surrounding the track on December 8, 2012. Arthritis affects one in every five adults and 300,000 children, and is the nation’s leading cause of disability. For more information, visit Arthritis.org.

Previous Race Recap: Focused on contending for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championship, Parker Kligerman entered the first of four straight races to close out the 2012 season optimistic to continue his streak of solid performances at Martinsville Speedway. Suffering from a failure in the brake system in the No. 7 Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra, Kligerman battled the handling, his fellow competitors, and the .526-mile short track in the Kroger 200. A well-timed strategy call made by crew chief Chad Kendrick gave Kligerman the chance to make his way back to the front after falling one lap down due to the brake issues, recovering for a ninth place finish.

Chassis History: Parker Kligerman will pilot Red Horse Racing Toyota Tundra chassis 001 this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway. The No.7 team, led by crew chief Chad Kendrick, prepared this particular Tundra for Kligerman after its most recent run at Kentucky Speedway, where the 22-year-old driver scored a runner up finish.

Does a shorter race in the fall change your strategy at all?

“In the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, none of our races are that long, so looking at the little differences you have between the races when you shorten or lengthen them, just kind of changes the strategy a little bit. But that strategy falls more into the crew chief’s hands. As drivers our goal is to always go out there and lead the most laps and win the race, so that doesn’t really change from race to race no matter how long it is.”

Since it was the site of your first NCWTS start, does Texas hold a sentimental value?

“I think right now we want to plant a flag in the grass and conquer every track on the schedule, but it does have a little sentimental value since it is the place of my first truck race, and hopefully I can come full circle and win one there. I look forward to it, and in all honesty, I really want one of those cowboy hats and get the chance to shoot those guns.”
