Bobby Labonte, JTG Daugherty Racing Welcomes New Primary Sponsor at PIR

Scottsdale-based company introduces Vektor Vodka

AVONDALE, Ariz. (November 7, 2012) – – JTG Daugherty Racing is at it again and has secured another premium sponsor with the addition of Vektor Vodka as primary of the No. 47 Toyota Camry at Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) for the November 11th AdvoCare 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series weekend. The brand also joined PIR’s family of official partners kicking off their partnership as the official Vodka of the track this week.

“Teaming up with a powerhouse venue like Phoenix International Raceway is a natural progression for us,” said Native Spirits CEO Dr. Mark S. Williams. “This is our hometown, and having Vektor Vodka on the hood of the JTG Daugherty Racing No. 47 Toyota with an icon like Bobby Labonte on the wheel at PIR is incredible. This is our first year in what we hope will be a long term relationship with NASCAR, PIR, and the most loyal fans in sports.”

Recently, Native Spirits Limited announced its new ultra-premium, award-winning Russian vodka, Vektor Vodka, after debuting its line in Arizona earlier this year. Vektor Vodka is scheduled to be released in markets nationwide in 2013 by the Scottsdale based company.

“We are looking forward to being a part of Vektor Vodka’s launch at Phoenix International Raceway by having them as a primary sponsor on our No. 47 Toyota Camry during the AdvoCare 500,” JTG Daugherty Racing co-owner Tad Geschickter said. “We are fortunate to add another premium sponsor to our lineup this season. The brand, which debuted in Arizona earlier this year, will make its release in markets nationwide in 2013.”

Entering PIR, Labonte has 21 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victories, 115 top-fives, 203 top-10s and 26 pole awards. The 2000 champion is missing a PIR win in his 28th attempts. He does have three top-five, nine top-10s and a pole award to his credit. Earlier this season, Labonte qualified 17th and finished 16th.

“In the spring we seemed to fight being tight in the center during the race,” Labonte said. “We finished 16th and that was an improvement from the year before where we finished 21st in both events. We’ve been running better as a company and feel really good about this weekend.”

The JTG Daugherty Racing team had a tough break at Texas Motor Speedway on Sunday. They finished 33rd after Labonte’s radiator was knocked out due to a chain reaction from cars checking up on a restart. Each week the team has witnessed progress on the track and crew chief Brian Burns is optimistic about racing at PIR.

“Last weekend, we had a good car and more misfortune struck, but we are still moving in the right direction,” Burns said. “We’ve brought the car we raced at Indy (Indianapolis Motor Speedway) to PIR. It’s a good car for us. We also feel like we are much better as an organization and we can we can only improve upon that on Sunday.”

Live coverage of the AdvoCare500 this Sunday begins at 2 p.m. on ESPN. MRN and Sirius XM will also broadcast the event.
