DAWSON, SWANSON SHARE SPOTLIGHT IN LAS VEGAS FINALE!

Bryant Dawson of Phoenix, Ariz. closed out his first USAC professional driving title Saturday at the Las Vegas (Nev. Motor Speedway Bullring.

By finishing second to Jake Swanson in Saturday’s 30-lap feature, the 2010 USAC .25 Midget B Class Champ and 2011 Mod and Heavy AA titles emerged as this year’s USAC Las Vegas Ignite Midget crown.

Swanson, of Anaheim, Calif., won Saturday’s race over Dawson, Jimmy Waters Michael Fanelli and Riley Emmel. Fanelli concluded the season 54 points behind Dawson as the series runner-up.

Swanson passed Dawson on lap nine of Saturday’s race and led the last 22 laps for the victory. Dawson had earlier wrested the lead from Christine Breckenridge, who led the first three laps of the race.
