RFR PR Campaign Nets MarCom Award; Team recognized for second consecutive year
CONCORD, N.C. (Feb. 28, 2013) – Roush Fenway Racing has accumulated a NASCAR record 311 victories during its celebrated 25 year history. It’s 2012 “25 Winning Years” marketing platform – designed to highlight and celebrate those accomplishments – has brought home its own accolade; being awarded the 2012 MarCom International Gold Award for public relations/communications campaigns. It marks the second consecutive year that RFR’s marketing team has been recognized by MarCom.
The MarCom award honors excellence in the communications field and recognizes outstanding creative achievement by marketing and communication professionals, with over 6,000 entries from throughout the United States, Canada and several other countries in the 2012 competition. Winners were selected from over 200 categories in seven forms of media and communication efforts – marketing, publications, marketing/promotion, public service/pro bono, creativity and electronic/interactive. About 25 percent of the entries, including Roush Fenway, brought home honors.
Roush Fenway’s “25 Winning Years” Program was designed to not only commemorate the longevity of the milestone anniversary as a mark in time, but also to recognize the organization’s lofty accomplishments over that time period, as the winningest team in NASCAR history.
The program was designed to highlight the accomplishments of the organization, its people, partners and innovations over the previous 25 seasons of competing. Its purpose was to create both internal and external awareness of the organization and its success over the previous 25 years of competition, in a manner to drive both employee satisfaction and external awareness.
In 2011 RFR won a MarCom for its successful RickyVsTrevor program. Roush Fenway also received an honorable mention MarCom in poster design for its ‘The Future is Now’ poster with driver’s Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Trevor Bayne at Fenway Park that is on display in the team’s museum in Concord, N.C.
MarCom entries come from corporate marketing and communication departments, advertising agencies, PR firms, design shops, production companies and freelancers. The competition has grown to one of the largest of its kind with over 6,000 entries per year, with winners ranging in size from individual communicators to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies.
MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals. The international organization consists of several thousand creative professionals. The Association oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and sets standards for excellence. Judges are industry professionals who look for companies and individuals whose talent exceeds a high standard of excellence and whose work serves as a benchmark for the industry.
