White Ready for West Coast Swing

Making Inaugural Nationwide Start at Auto Club Speedway

MOORESVILLE, N.C. (March 19, 2013) – Jason White is primed for his first Nationwide Series start at Auto Club Speedway. The driver of the No. 00 HEADRUSH Apparel Toyota has two Truck Series starts at the two-mile oval, where he’s achieved a best finish of 27th place. He’s ready to start his Nationwide Series record off on the right foot in Saturday’s Royal Purple 300.

White comments on racing at Auto Club Speedway:

“We’re definitely looking forward to California. It’s a two-mile track and it’s got some age on it. Its surface is getting worn out and you’re having to ‘drive the track’ more and more. There are so many different grooves there. If you’re running a line and it’s not working, there are a few others to try. There are some bumps to contend with. We’ll be taking a different car there, one that we’ve been working on and haven’t used this year, so we’re excited about getting out there and hitting the track.

“Fuel mileage is a big deal there. You can have a 35 or 40 lap green flag run. If you have better mileage than everyone else, obviously you’ll be on the track longer. Those laps, even if it’s just a few, can be the difference. The field can get strung out and there aren’t a whole lot of cautions, so this can be a race where you have to outthink the competition.

“California is a cool area. There’s L.A., Santa Monica and all that’s around there. It’s pretty cool to visit. Hopefully I’ll get out there a day or two early and have a chance to check it out. We’re excited to have HEADRUSH back on our Toyota this week. Hopefully we’ll give them a good run.”
