Starting Out: On October 10, 2002, Jamie McMurray made his NASCAR Sprint Cup Series (NSCS) debut at Talladega Superspeedway, driving in relief for an injured Sterling Marlin.
EGR Drivers by the Numbers: Since the 2001 NSCS season, EGR drivers have 56 starts at Talladega Superspeedway. EGR teams’ have completed 9526 of 10608 (89.8%), leading 317 laps, accumulated two pole awards, six top-five and 14 top-10 finishes, among nine different drivers.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW FOR TALLADEGA SUPERSPEEDWAY
Jamie McMurray and No. 1 McDonald’s Team
Richmond Recap: Jamie McMurray and his No. 1 McDonald’s team entered Richmond International Raceway 10th in the NSCS point standings, looking to carry momentum of three top-10 finishes in the last five races. Following a late race pit strategy call to not pit on the race’s final caution, the No. 1 team would finish the Toyota Owners 400 in the 26th position.
McMurray at Talladega: With a total of 21 starts at Talladega, McMurray has one victory (2009), five top-five and six top-10 finishes at the 2.66-mile tri-oval. McMurray has an average starting position of 20.7 and an average finishing position of 20.0. McMurray has led 221 laps, including leading the most laps (38) in the last race at Talladega on October 7, 2012.
Ranking at The Top: Over the last 16 races at Talladega Superspeedway, Jamie McMurray ranks 11th in driver rating among all active NSCS drivers. During that 16 race stretch McMurray has a driver rating of 81.1 and has compiled five top-five finishes including a victory in the October 2009 race.
Drive Thru: Following practice at Talladega Superspeedway on Friday May 3, Jamie McMurray will be at the McDonald’s located at 75280 Hwy 77 Lincoln, AL 35096, beginning at 6:00 pm CT. McMurray will be there to meet fans and sign autographs. Make a pit stop, grab some dinner and meet the driver. You can also see the No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet SS show car. The McDonald’s show car will also be on display the following dates: Thursday, May 2 at 1724 Ashville Road NE Leeds, AL 25094 and Saturday, May 4 at 1015 Highway 21 South, Oxford, AL 26201 from 12:00-8:00pm at each location.
Juan Pablo Montoya and No. 42 Clorox Team
Richmond Rewind: Juan Pablo Montoya and the Depend team found themselves in contention for a win over the weekend. Montoya lined-up in the sixth position and led a season high 67 laps before a green/white/checkered finish deterred the team from bringing home the win. The No. 42 Chevy SS would finish in the fourth position and bring home their first top-five finish of the season.
Montoya in Talladega:. Montoya has 12 starts at Talladega Superspeedway which include two pole awards, three top-five and three top-10 finishes. He has led 60 laps and has completed 2,166 of 2,284 laps (94.8%). His average starting position is 15.2 and average finishing position is 20.1.
Superspeedway Success: In 66 starts at tracks two-miles or more in length, Montoya has accumulated six top-five, 17 top-10 finishes and five pole awards. He averages a 15.5 starting position and a 21.2 finishing position.
Returning to Talladega: Montoya made his stock car racing debut at Talladega with the ARCA Series in 2006. He started second, finished third and led nine of the 81 laps completed at the superspeedway.
