Eric McClure’s Dover Advance

5-Hour Energy 200 QUOTES & NOTES: Dover Int’l Speedway

Eric McClure Quotes

Dover is one of those tracks where you have had ups and downs, so what are your thoughts heading into this weekend’s event at the “Monster Mile”?

“We need luck.  Our performance hasn’t been what we’ve come to expect the past three or four non-plate races, but even more so, we find ourselves in bad situations, getting caught up in things not of our making.  Dover is a wild, at times destructive, race.  If we can just not have anything go wrong, we should be ok.”

Hefty®/Reynolds® Racing NOTES

Three-Way Tie in Owners’ Standings…After posting a disappointing 30th-place finish in last weekend’s History 300 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, Eric McClure and the TriStar Motorsports team find themselves in a three-way battle for the 23rd position in the NASCAR Owner Standings.  Having lost some ground on the 20th spot, McClure will need a good, clean run to make up the ground lost this past weekend.

Dover Fast Facts…This weekend’s 5-Hour Energy 200 will mark McClure’s 210th-career NASCAR Nationwide Series start and his 12th at the one-mile speedway.  In 11 starts, the Virginia driver has completed 95.7% of the total laps attempted and has an average finish of 25.4.  McClure’s best finish of 23rd came during the spring event in 2009 when piloting a car for Team Rensi Motorsports.  McClure missed the spring event last season as he was still recovering from injuries sustained in an accident at Talladega Superspeedway.  Later in the year, he was able to capture a 26th-place finish at the “Monster Mile.”

Two Members from the United States Air Force to Serve as Honorary Crew Members…The No. 14 Hefty®/Reynolds® race team is excited to host Technical Sgt Randy Rollins and Staff Sgt Justin Tardif during this weekend’s 5-Hour Energy 200 at Dover Int’l Raceway.  Technical Sgt Randy Rollins is a Non-Commissioned Officer in charge of Corrosion Control and Staff Sgt Justin Tardif is an Aircraft Structural Maintenance Craftsman.  Both of these U. S. Airmen are based locally at the Dover Air Force Base in Dover, DE.

Chassis No. 5…  The 34-year-old driver will pilot chassis No. 5 this weekend at Dover Int’l Speedway.  The 200-lap event will be this chassis’ fifth race of the season.  Chassis No. 5 was last run at Texas Motor Speedway where the team posted a 30th-place finish and in the four races its run, it has an average finish of 24.25.

Tune-In:  Saturday’s race from Dover Int’l Speedway will be televised live on ESPN beginning at 2:00 p.m. (ET).  MRN (Motor Racing Network) and SiriusXM Radio Channel 90 will also broadcast the event live on Saturday, June 1.

About Reynolds Consumer Products

Two of the most trusted household brands, Reynolds® and Hefty®, joined together as Reynolds Consumer Products in 2010.  While the establishment of this new company made it official, the truth is that Reynolds® and Hefty® products have been found side-by-side in the kitchens of American families for more than three generations.

The creation of both the Reynolds® and Hefty® brands is the direct result of American ingenuity mixed with a bit of elbow grease.  Reynolds Wrap® Foil was invented after the use of aluminum for military purposes diminished after World War II and became a new staple for American kitchens.  Hefty® Waste Bags were first developed with excess material from an early plastics innovator, creating another household essential.

Today, Reynolds Consumer Products, headquartered in Lake Forest, Illinois offers a diverse product portfolio of essentials for every home.  From prepping, cooking and serving, to storage and disposal, Reynolds Consumer Products provides solutions for controlling the chaos of busy households everywhere.
