Backyard Brawl…James Buescher and his Turner Scott Motorsports (TSM) team will make the short trek over to Charlotte Motor Speedway (CMS) for their second consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series (NNS) start. Regrouped from last week, Buescher looks to continue his success at the 1.5-mile oval. The last time Buescher competed in a NNS car at CMS, he made his way up from a mid-pack starting spot to earn a top-10 finish.
Going Pink for a Cause…With the support of The Fraternal Order of Eagles (F.O.E.), the No. 34 TSM team will turn their Chevy Camaro pink in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month. The F.O.E. is a big supporter of cancer research and hope to create extra awareness for finding a cure with this paint scheme. The Fraternal Order of Eagles is an international non-profit organization, which unites fraternally in the spirit of liberty, truth, justice, and equality, to make human life more desirable by lessening its ills, and by promoting peace, prosperity, gladness and hope. The F.O.E. was founded in 1898 by six theatre owners gathered in a Seattle shipyard to discuss a musician’s strike. After addressing the matter, they agreed to “bury the hatchet” and form “The Order of Good Things.” As numbers grew, members changed the name to “The Fraternal Order of Eagles.” Presently, F.O.E. membership is almost one million strong, with more than 1,700 local aeries in the U.S. and Canada. Women’s auxiliaries total more than 1,500, with more than 335,000 members. Among its many accomplishments, the F.O.E. counts the founding of Mother’s Day and esteemed members include seven former U.S. Presidents.
This Week’s Camaro…The No. 34 F.O.E.team will unload TSM-410, a brand new chassis, this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Last Time Out…Buescher and his TSM team took advantage of the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series off week to race in the NNS at Kansas Speedway. After a qualifying effort that left them wanting more, the No. 34 F.O.E. crew fought all 200 laps to tighten up their Chevrolet Camaro for Buescher. A late-race yellow flag allowed the team to duck down pit road for a last ditch effort to gain positions. The pit stop played out as planned, allowing Buescher and his TSM team to bring their F.O.E Chevy home in the 15th position.
