No. 35 Carries Classic A&W All American Food Scheme
STATESVILLE, N.C. (October 15, 2013) – Josh Wise’s last trip to Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway produced a career-high 19th-place finish. And it would’ve been even higher if not for a flat tire on the final restart of the green-white-checkered ending that saw his teammates David Ragan and David Gilliland finish first and second. The driver of the No. 35 Ford aims for a cleaner finish and an even better result in the Sprint Cup Series’ return to the track this weekend for Sunday’s Camping World RV Sales 500.
Wise is returning to the 2.66-mile superspeedway with the same car that he raced to a top-20 finish in May. He is also bringing the classic colors of A&W All American Food. The restaurant company is known for its house-made root beer served in a frosty mug and its classic hamburgers.
Comments from A&W All American Food team driver Josh Wise heading to Talladega:
“It was a really awesome race for us at Talladega in the spring with the Davids (Ragan and Gilliland). We got a flat tire on that last restart. We were hoping to be up there with them, but the cards didn’t quite fall the way we needed them to in order to do that.
“But we definitely always look forward to the superspeedways. All the guys at Front Row Motorsports build us pretty fast cars for those places and we put a little more emphasis on those because we feel like we can win those races. So, it’s cool to go to a place where you feel like you can go and contend.
“We’ll have A&W All American Food on our No. 35 Ford Fusion, a little different look for us. It’s a cool throwback. The first A&W started as a root beer stand to welcome back World War I soldiers, and they still have kind of a nostalgic feel to them. You can watch Sunday’s race with a frosty root beer and a burger from A&W and that’ll make for a good day, hopefully watching the Front Row cars run up front.”
