ADVANCE NOTES
· Biffle at Talladega
o Biffle has 21 Sprint Cup career starts at Talladega, earning two top-five and five top-10 finishes.
o In 2012 Biffle finished inside the top 10 at both Talladega races.
· The Car
o Chassis RK-852 was brand new earlier this season at Talladega, where it was collected in a 16-car accident just 44 laps into the race. The team fixed the damage and Biffle salvaged a 36th-place finish.
· Did You Know?
o Masking tape was invented at 3M in 1925 by scientist Richard Drew for use by professional painters in residential and commercial painting applications. 3M invented the product now known as ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape in 1988. It was originally developed for use in two-toned painting on automobiles. ScotchBlue™ Painter’s Tape revolutionized the masking tape industry, because it was the first tape developed that resists UV light and allows for longer masking times.
Biffle on Talladega:
“I’m really looking forward to Talladega this weekend. Nobody knows what’s going to happen, it could be our chance to make up some points, or it could go the other way. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
Puccia on Talladega:
“We had a fast car at Talladega earlier in the year and at Daytona in July. Track position is very important at Superspeedway races and keeping the car up front will be crucial to staying out of the wrecks. I feel good about where we are at with our Superspeedway program.”
