Mooresville, N.C. (October 28, 2013) – Coming off of a month long hiatus from the NASCAR Nationwide Series, Cole Whitt emerges to take on Texas Motor Speedway for the first time this season. Sitting behind the wheel of the TriStar Motorsports / Takagi Tankless Water Heaters No. 44 Toyota Camry for the fourth time this season, Whitt will make his third Nationwide Series start at Texas Motor Speedway for Saturday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts Challenge.
Mile-and-a-half tracks have been favorable for Whitt as he holds a 15.2 career average finish at the eight 1.5-mile tracks on the NASCAR circuit and an average career finish of 17.5 at Texas Motor Speedway.
This weekend’s Toyota Camry:
Wrapped in red, white and blue the newly acquired chassis No. 702 will hit the track for the first time under the TriStar Motorsports banner.
Cole Whitt on Texas Motor Speedway:
Everyone seems to compare Texas to Charlotte, in your opinion what’s the difference between the two?
“That’s a tough one because they are so similar. I’d have to say the bumps between one and two are notable and you tend to get a huge wind gust off of three that almost launches you. I really like Texas and haven’t raced at many mile-and-a-half tracks this year, so I’m excited to see what we’ve got.”
