HOMESTEAD-BOUND: Johanna Long and the No. 70 Foretravel Motorcoach Chevrolet team head to Homestead-Miami Speedway for the final event of the NASCAR Nationwide Series season. The ML Motorsports team will unload chassis No. 61, last run at Charlotte Motor Speedway where the team finished 17th.

RACING IN THE SUNSHINE STATE: In last year’s Nationwide Series event at Homestead, Long battled the handling of her car and bad luck to finish 37th.

IN THE REARVIEW: TEXAS MOTOR SPEEDWAY: After starting in the 22nd position, disappointment struck when Long reported that her clutch pedal was stuck. Further investigation revealed that it was a damaged bearing in the clutch that ended the day for the No. 70 team with a 37th-place finish.

CHAMPIONSHIP TASTE: Long will be participating in the 2013 Championship Taste driver cook off at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Funds raised through this event will benefit the NASCAR Foundation’s Speediatrics Unit at Homestead hospital.

MOST POPULAR DRIVER: Long is eligible for the title of NASCAR Nationwide Series Most Popular Driver. The driver will try to improve on her fifth-place finish in last years voting. Fans can vote once per day up until the deadline of November 16th at www.nascar.com/nnsmpd.

SNOWBALL DERBY: While Homestead is the last Nationwide Series race of 2013, Long will quickly shift her focus to another big race in Florida. She will again participate in the prestigious Snowball Derby, which she won in 2010, at Five Flags Speedway in her hometown of Pensacola, Florida.

JOHANNA QUOTES: “Although Homestead is a track that I am not as familiar with, I feel very confident going into the final race. My ML Motorsports team and I are very excited to get back on the track after what happened in Texas, and to show how much improvement we have made on 1.5-mile tracks.”
