Kahne, Kenseth Scheduled For Martinsville Speedway Party Plaza Prior To STP 500

MARTINSVILLE, Va. (February 17, 2014) – Two championship contenders are scheduled to appear in Martinsville Speedway’s Party Plaza prior to the STP 500 on March 30.Kasey Kahne and Matt Kenseth are scheduled to be in the Party Plaza on the morning of the STP 500. The drivers will appear at different times and each will participate in an emceed question-and-answer session during their appearance.

The Party Plaza offers fans a morning full of excitement with racing celebrities, show cars, racing simulators, games, prizes and music. Vendors will be selling food and Pepsi products. There will be a beer garden offering an assortment of beer.Admission to the Party Plaza, which also includes a Pre-Race Track Pass to walk along the front-stretch of Martinsville Speedway, is just $30.

Kahne, Pepsi MAX driver and driver of the No. 5 Chevrolet SS, finished fourth in last spring’s STP 500 at Martinsville, and went on to make the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Kahne has three top-five finishes on Martinsville’s half-mile oval and has one Martinsville pole to his credit.

Kenseth finished second at Martinsville last fall when he was challenging Jimmie Johnson for the Sprint Cup championship, matching his best-ever run at the half-mile oval. He wound up second in the Chase, but had a series-leading seven wins in 2013. Kenseth, who led 96 laps here last spring, has four top-five finishes and nine top-10 Martinsville finishes.

Ticket prices for the STP 500 start at $37. Seats in the Bill France Tower are only $42. Youth 12 and under tickets in the Clay Earles Tower are $10 with teens 13-17 for $25 and adults only $57.

The Family Four Pack, which includes 2 adults and 2 youth 12 and under, start at just $90.

The STP 500 weekend at Martinsville Speedway is scheduled for March 28-30. The Kroger 250 NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race is scheduled for March 29 and Pole Day on March 28.
