CASSILL LOOKING FOR MORE AT TALLADEGA

TALLADEGA, Ala. – After strong runs at Darlington and Richmond, Landon Cassill rolls into Talladega Superspeedway in Alabama this week looking to build on his recent record.

Cassill will be driving the JD Motorsports with Gary Keller Flex Seal Chevrolet in Saturday’s Aaron’s 312.

In the past two Nationwide Series races, Cassill scored a 12th at tough Darlington Raceway and a 13th at Richmond International Raceway. The Friday night finish at Richmond boosted him to 12th in series driver points.

Now it’s on to one of the circuit’s longest, fastest tracks. Cassill has raced six times in Sprint Cup events at Talladega with a top finish of 16th, and he was 17th in a lone Nationwide run last year.

“It’s all about the car at Talladega, and we normally have really good ones there,” Cassill said. “If you can work the draft right, you can be near the front at the finish. Then it’s just a big, very fast chess match.”

Practice for the race is scheduled at 3 p.m. (ET) and 4:30 p.m. Thursday. Qualifying is set for 6:40 p.m. Friday, with the race scheduled at 3 p.m. Saturday.
