Branden Bullen Ready For 2014 OSCAAR Modified Tour Season

BOND HEAD, ON- The 2013 season that third-generation competitor Branden Bullen quietly fashion an impressive Rookie campaign, turning in three top-5s and ten top-10s in his eleven tour starts, earning the 2013 Rookie of the Year title. On May 18th, Bullen will kick off his sophomore year, with ambitions of earning his first career Modified victory.

“I can’t wait to get back to Sunset”, beams Bullen as his family-led team completes their final nut-and-bolt check before their first practice session of the season. “I raced fulltime at Sunset in a Mini Stock for almost two seasons, and earned my first OSCAAR podium there. The speedway has always meant a lot to my family, and has definitely been good to me as a competitor”

‘The Bond Head Bandit’ enters the 2014 full of confidence, eager to assert himself as the newest of OSCAAR’s ‘homegrown’ stars.

“Our entire team felt as though OSCAAR was the best choice to begin my development”, explains Bullen. “Moving from Mini Stock competition to going out on tour with the Modified was a huge step, but I’m proud of how our team handled it. I definitely see myself as a better driver heading into 2014, and am excited to establish myself as a threat to win on this tour”

Bullen is mindful of how quickly a championship bid can be derailed on a tour with a schedule as short as the OSCAAR Modifieds, and is hoping for a solid finish at Sunset to begin their sophomore campaign.

“This is going to be a big race for all of us”, says Bullen. “A good finish, at our home track, will put us in great championship points position to start the season. But, more than that, it’s a way to thank my Dad and everyone else that has put in time on this car over the off-season”

“We’ve done so much work, updating this chassis”, continued the rising star. “I’ve been fortunate to have the support network that I do. We’re a small budget team. We won’t be out-dollaring anyone this year. We just do things the old-fashioned way, and the best way to thank everyone would be to park our car in victory lane this Sunday!”

Branden will follow the entirety of the OSCAAR Modified Tour this season, travelling across the province, from London to Ottawa, with marketing support from Dale Farren & Son of Snowball, ON and Knightworks Designs. Sponsorship packages are still available by contacting Phil Bullen at (905)-960-4337.
