Branden Bullen Motivated After Strong Run at Kawartha Speedway

BOND HEAD, ON- In a classic tale of the score sheet not telling the full story, Branden Bullen’s efforts at Kawartha Speedway were far more impressive than his eventual 15th place finish.

The third-generation driver qualified well, and ran amongst the top-5 for the entirety of the event’s first half before late-race contact whilst battling for the 5th position sent the 19-year old to the tail end of the field.

“The car was so much better than what we had to work with at Sunset”, said Bullen post-race. “After fighting the handling issues that we had at Sunset, Dad [former OSCAAR Super Late Model regular Phil Bullen] and the rest of the crew went back to the drawing board on almost everything”

“We changed around a lot in the front end of the car, and we definitely hit on something. The car steadily got better all day. We had a lot left for the second half of the feature when we got into some trouble that sent us to the rear”

The early-race performance serves as an excellent motivator for a team preparing for their second year on the burgeoning OSCAAR Modified Tour.

“Of course, a top-3 would have meant the world to us”, shrugged ‘The Bond Head Bandit’, “but it still feels great knowing that we have equipment that’s able to run at the front of the field”

“We came home 7th at Sunset, but we had to fight the car all day”, continued the soft-spoken sophomore. “Any time you have a day like that, you start to doubt your equipment a little bit, you worry that your stuff isn’t up to par. That’s why it was awesome for us to have a bounce back like this. We didn’t get the finish we were looking for, but we raced alongside the elite of this tour all day”

“We know now that there’s definitely nothing wrong with our equipment or our setup. Now, it’s all about making our car even better”

Branden Bullen will return to action at Barrie Speedway for Round 3 of the OSCAAR Modified Tour on June 14th. Gate times and ticket prices will be available at www.BarrieSpeedway.com

Branden Bullen Racing will carry marketing support from Dale Farren & Son of Snowball, ON and Knightworks Designs in 2014. Sponsorship packages are still available by contacting Phil Bullen at (905)-960-4337.
