Petty Family Foundation Makes Donations in Honor of Lynda Petty

Four Local Charities Receive Donations

Level Cross, N.C. (June 9, 2014) – Thanks to the outpouring of fans across the country, the memory of Lynda Petty, wife of NASCAR legend Richard Petty, will live on. The Petty Family Foundation today announced that through numerous and generous donations in memory of Mrs. Lynda Petty, the family has chosen four organizations to make monetary donations.

The following were close to Lynda Petty’s heart and will each receive a donation. The Hospice of Randolph County, The Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center at Duke University, Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, where the Petty family attended, and Randolph County Community College. All received donations through the Petty Family Foundation in honor of Mrs. Lynda Petty.

“We are so grateful for all who have donated to the Petty Family Foundation in memory of our mother,” said Rebecca Petty Moffitt, Executive Director of The Petty Family Foundation. “The family wanted to give back to the places where our mother contributed and to those she helped and in return helped her. Although this is only a small list of the many people that she touched, we hope they can benefit from the donations.”

Petty passed away on March 25 at the age of 72.
