EARNHARDT 30th AT CHICAGOLAND

JOLIET, Ill. – Jeffrey Earnhardt scored a 30th-place finish in Saturday’s Jimmy John’s Freaky Fast 300 Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway.

Earnhardt started 35th and ran 170 of the 200 laps before parking his Chevrolet with engine trouble.

“We had a decent car but couldn’t make it to the end,” Earnhardt said. “We were hoping for better at a track I like, but it wasn’t to be today.”

Earnhardt, driving the No. 4 Chevrolet for JD Motorsports with Gary Keller, stayed in 18th place in Nationwide Series points.

Sprint Cup invader Kevin Harvick won the race, and Chase Elliott finished 10th to keep the series point lead.

The series rolls on to Kentucky Speedway for a Sept. 20 race as the Nationwide season hits its final weeks. Seven races remain on the schedule.
