No. 43 Team To Use Kansas Set-Up for Charlotte Success

Armstrong & WinField Team Showed Speed at Kansas; Will Bring Same Set-Up to Charlotte

Despite a 25th-place finish at Kansas Speedway last weekend, the No. 43 WinField team showed speed throughout the weekend but bad luck during the race put Armstrong several laps down.

Crew Chief Philippe Lopez plans to bring the same Kansas set-up to Charlotte Motor Speedway this weekend and looks to improve on the promising speed displayed in Kansas. Lopez has five Nationwide starts with Richard Petty Motorsports and has earned two Top-10 finishes with an average finish of 14.

Armstrong has a total of four starts at the mile-and-a-half track, including two starts in the Nationwide Series. He earned his best finish of 19th in the series earlier this year. Armstrong also has two starts in the Truck Series with an average finish of 12.5, and he earned his best finish in the series in 2013 after finishing 12th.

“I like going to Charlotte. It’s a pretty fun mile-and-a-half track. One thing about Charlotte is it seems to still wear out tires pretty good. You can move around, get up by the wall and still run the bottom. I feel like Charlotte is one of my best mile-and-a-half tracks, but last time, we were there we struggled a bit. The good thing is that we’ve been improving this second half of the season and getting better finishes. We also showed some promise and speed in Kansas and just had some bad luck and bad timing. So, I’m looking forward to seeing how much we can improve this weekend.”
