GEICO 500 Gets the Green Flag on Sunday, May 3

May Race weekend at Talladega Superspeedway to also feature Winn-Dixie 300 XFINITY Series Eventon Saturday & Traditional ARCA Race back to Friday

TALLADEGA, AL – The GEICO 500 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Talladega Superspeedway in Talladega, Alabama, roars back into action May 1-3.

The GEICO 500 will serve as the anchor event of an exciting spring weekend that will also feature the Winn-Dixie 300 NASCAR XFINITY Series race on Saturday, May 2, and the International Motorsports Hall of Fame 200 ARCA event on Friday, May 1.

Last year’s spring Cup classic at the 2.66-mile venue proved to be a pivotal event in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup as Denny Hamlin claimed the checkered flag and a spot in the title battle in which he finished third. This year’s GEICO 500 will be the 10th event on the 2015 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule.

Both the GEICO 500 and the Winn-Dixie 300 will be televised LIVE on FOX and broadcast on MRN Radio, as well as SiriusXM. The GEICO 500 is scheduled for a 1:00 p.m. ET start on Sunday, May 3 while the Winn-Dixie 300 will take the green flag at 3 p.m. ET on Saturday, May 2.  Tickets are now on sale to the public for all three days of exciting racing action.
