News and Notes
Green Flag…The NextEra Energy Resources 250 at Daytona International Speedway officially kicks off the 2015 season for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) on Friday, February 20. Daniel Hemric, driver of the No. 14 California Clean Power Chevrolet Silverado, will be making his first NCWTS start at the 2.5-mile superspeedway. However, it will not be the 24-year-old’s first start at the Florida track. Hemric made his Daytona debut last Saturday in the ARCA Racing Series, fighting back from a 21st-place starting position to finish 12th in the 80-lap race.
History Lesson…Although he arrives at Daytona International Speedway with rookie stripes, Hemric has already experienced a great deal of success in both Legends cars and Late Models. The young driver’s career highlights include championships in the Southern Super Series (2013), Legends Pro National (2008 & 2009), Legends Pro Summer Shootout (2012 & 2013), Blizzard Series (2013), JEGS/CRA All-Stars Tour (2012) and a victory in the 2010 Legends Million at Charlotte Motor Speedway, winning $250,000, the largest paycheck in Legends car history. Hemric made his NTS Motorsports debut in last year’s NCWTS season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. Hemric will be behind the wheel full time in 2015, competing for Sunoco Rookie of the Year honors with crew chief Ryan McKinney calling the shots from atop the pit box for his NCWTS campaign.

Daniel Hemric on 2015 and NTS Motorsports
“I could not be more excited about 2015; it’s a little overwhelming to have this opportunity. I’ve had so many supporters growing up in short-track racing, with it always being the ultimate goal to run in one of NASCAR’s top-three series full time. To do it with a team like NTS is really special. Being able to go to the racetrack week in and week out and build over the course of a season is something I’ve always dreamed of.”
Daniel Hemric on Daytona International Speedway
“I feel really good about racing at Daytona [International Speedway], especially after competing in the ARCA [Racing Series] race last week. I learned a lot and I completed all the laps, and that was really my goal. Daytona is its own animal and starting the season there is intimidating for most, but I’m looking forward to the challenge. I know this team has done really well at superspeedways in the past, so I’m really hoping that we can go out there, make it to the checkered flag and bring home a good finish.”
