GREG BIFFLE, No. 16 Cheez-It Ford Fusion (Finished 14th) – “That was definitely a battle out there today. We were holding on to that lead lap all day long and trying to play some strategy there. At the end of the day I don’t think anybody had anything for the 4 today. I am definitely proud of the 16 team. They worked hard today to get all we could out there. We still have some work to do but I know we will go get after it next week in Phoenix.”
JOEY LOGANO, No. 22 Pennzoil Platinum Ford Fusion (Finished 10th) – “That was a poorly executed race on my behalf. I didn’t do a good job. I did a good job of screwing up anytime I could. The speeding on pit road – I found that. I put us in a hole. Not that we were going to win the race either way because we weren’t fast enough but I maybe cost us two or three positions with what I did. I don’t know. We have some work to do. I have work to do with myself first and then we have work to do with the car too.”
BRAD KESELOWSKI, No. 2 Miller Lite Ford Fusion (Finished 7th) – “It was an up and down day. We played the strategy there at the end hping to catch a break – some kind of break and make steal a win. It just didn’t play out. I thought we were probably about a second or third place car at times. I don’t know if we ever had anything for the 4 but it was a good kind of never say die effort to recover from being a lap down in the middle parts of the race. That was the story today. Good job by the team to rally there and get what we were able to out of it.”
RYAN BLANEY, No. 21 Motorcraft/Quick Lane Ford Fusion (Finished 19th) –“I thought the end of the first run was okay and we were coming pretty good and then we came in and put two on it which ended up being a bad move and upset the race car and made it do a bunch of different things. We learned early not to do two. That is when we fell back and lost a lap and that was unfortunate. In the middle of the race we were trying to get it tightened up in the corner. That was a big hurt for us. We couldn’t get in the corner good and that really hurts your whole lap if you can’t get in the corner good. That second to last run we were really good but couldn’t get the caution when we were in the lucky dog spot. I was really wishing because I thought we could make up some ground. That last run though we freed up too much again. I learned a lot today as far as me driving and Jeremy and everyone on the box learned a lot. Our race car was pretty good toward the end. We will go to Texas, our next race and hope to take what we learned here to that.”
SAM HORNISH Jr., No. 9 Medallion Bank/Camping World Ford Fusion (Finished 24th) – “We did the best we could do with what we had today. It started off and didn’t feel like we were very good. Not only the handling was a little off but it just felt like we didn’t have quite all the power we needed so we switched out the ECU which put us at the back of the longest line and got us behind early. Regardless, we weren’t quite all the way up to speed. We made some changes on it because we got better fuel mileage we were able to stay out a little longer and catch the yellow and we finished better than what we probably should have. There are a lot of times when I should have won races that I finished 30th so the fastest car doesn’t always win. You just have to make the best out of it on days like today so you learn to optimize on days you have an opportunity to run up front.”
Kurt & Kyle obviously have attitude problems that they were born with. Kyle finally has seemed to figure things out. I give his wife credit for the turn around. Kurt has to surround himself with positive influences & not loose cannons like himself. He has all the talent in the world inside of a race car but has to prove himself in other aspects of his life. I wish Kurt Busch the best in the future. The ball is in Kurts court more than ever!
