The West Coast Tour Continues…Michael Annett and his No. 46 Pilot Flying J team continue their West Coast journey this Sunday as the teams of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series tackle the quirky one-mile Phoenix International Raceway in Avondale, Ariz. It marks Annett’s third career Cup Series start at PIR.
Annett’s History at Phoenix…In four NASCAR Xfinity Series races on Phoenix’s current track configuration, Annett averaged a 10th-place finish. In his two maiden Cup Series starts there last season, he registered results of 34th, despite his throttle return spring coming loose late in the event, and 26th, despite breaking a drive flange late in a race in which he led one lap.
Michael Annett on Phoenix International Raceway:
“Phoenix is a really unique track that’s fun to drive. I certainly enjoy racing there. Track position can be hard to come by, just because passing is so tricky there, but I feel like, as long as we get the car close to balanced and we hit our marks on pit stops, we can come away with a good finish.”
